On 02 May 2013 In Marriages and Babies

Congratulations to Amy and Rory!

On 16th February 2013 several BRATS made the journey to Plymouth to join Amy Brightwell and Rory Bate in celebrating their marriage. It was a fantastic day, the weather was glorious! The day started with a boat journey across the water to the stunning venue, Mount Edgcumbe House. The boat trip across was made most memorable by the wonderful commentary from Mr Brightwell, father of the bride. At the venue, Amy made a majestic entrance on the arm of her father, walking down the aisle to the very apt choice of “Chariots of Fire”. Needless to say, she looked fabulous. She and Rory were all smiles as they left the ceremony hand in hand through a sword arch formed by the Guard of Honour. The festivities continued throughout the afternoon and evening. The BRATs in attendance demonstrated their athleticism in terms of cake and cheese consumption, no crumbs were left at the end of the evening! Their endurance was also demonstrated on the dance floor with many two-left-feet efforts to keep up with the Ceilidh band. The morning after saw several BRATS enjoying the 50m pool at the Plymouth Life Centre (home of Tom Daley), a walk around the beautiful coastline and/or a dip in the sea. We were all delighted to share in Amy and Rory’s day and celebrate the start of their future together.
